Seven Marathons in Seven Days

When you watch an Olympic marathon, you often see at least one athlete experiencing muscle meltdown.

But Guy Andrews hopes to defy all the laws of physiology if he successfully runs seven marathons in seven days in seven Australian states and territories.

And the 35-year-old ironman is off to a flying start in his Endurance 7 challenge, running 42 and 46 kilometres in Queensland and the Northern Territory on the first two days.

After running 42km through the Gold Coast hinterland last night, Andrews conquered the Larapinta trail today after starting his run from Alice Springs and finsihing at Simpsons Gap.

Andrews concedes it was a risk to run four more kilometres than his planned 42-kilometre effort to reach Simpson's Gap in under six hours.

"I might have been asking for trouble by running those extra kilometres, but I feel in good shape," Andrews said.


Upon writing this entry, he has just finished the 5th leg a run up Mount Wellington in Tasmania's South. Take a look at the hill he just ran up.



He is definitely one fit bloke.
